Golden Kamuy

In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi Sugimoto ekes out
a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido.
Nicknamed "Sugimoto the Immortal" for his death-defying acts in battle, he seeks
fortune in order to fulfill a promise made to his best friend before he was killed in action.
During his hunt for gold, he finds hints of a hidden treasure, and with the help of an Ainu
girl named Asirpa, begins a deadly search involving escaped prisoners, military factions,
and harsh landscapes.
